Basic industries are those exporting from the region and bringing wealth from outside. This sector includes building products and construction materials, capital goods, equipment and machinery, chemicals. metals and mining, industrial materials and other natural resources, other manufacturing, distribution and service industries, paper, packaging and forest products.
